Dear Authors and Readers,

In 2009 I had the honour of taking the position of Editor-in-Chief of Autex Research Journal, which is an organ of the Association of Universities for Textiles. For me it is not only a great distinction but also a serious challenge, which I would like to meet as well as possible. I am now a head of young editorial staff, the members of which are ready to work hard to satisfy all your demands and requirements.

Currently a huge demand can be observed for prestigious scientific journals of the highest standard dealing with topics concerning the textile sector. The efforts we have made so far made it possible to create AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL. I would like to broaden its scope and popularize it among new readers.

I will be trying to achieve these goals by introducing Autex to the Master Journal List. It seems to be a difficult task, particularly during the world economic crisis. However, especially at that time it is of great importance to strengthen the scientific potential and undertake suitable steps to support textile industry by popularizing modern solutions and technologies you deal with in your papers.

AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL appears in electronic form four times a year. In the 21st century it seems to be the most accessible form in terms of disseminating knowledge and innovative achievements. Additionally, for the authors it is the cheapest and quickest form of popularizing their research.

I would like AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL to become a platform of discussion concerning topics important for scientists and entrepreneurs who are active in the textile sector. I hope it will deepen the contacts between industry and research institutes, which will in turn help to increase the significance and potential of textile industry in the world. I am absolutely positive I do not have to convince anyone how important role textiles play in protecting our lives and health and improving our comfort in everyday situations but also in extreme and harmful external conditions.

I would like to address all the scientists who care about the role of textile engineering in the world economy- please create its future yourself by popularizing your achievements in AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL! As Editor-in-Chief I can assure you that your contribution to the development of that unique scientific branch will not be neglected.

Let's create together, under the auspices of Autex, high standards in textile engineering and popularize our innovative and vital scientific achievements in AUTEX RESEARCH JOURNAL, the aim of which is to unite science and industry and diminish the distances among us.
